It was a great time of relaxation and rejuvenation. I got some good ol' reading in (which i had not done in a while) and was able to get to bed early whenever i wanted.
Then the Company Convention hit full force and i was off on a road trip to Indy with Tom, some good talks and discussions and living with my brothers from across the country. Y'all, we done good. We worked til we dropped and made some big strides on that duplex.
Back home in Shreveport, time for Widmo. I had been mulling over what all needed to get done for quite some time without really coming to roost on anything ("well, i definitely need to vacuum.... and then i need to teach Josh how to frame....and maybe a new dog?.....and finances, gotta get that done.....and, i know there was more....") etc.
By the time this morning rolled around, the Lord and I had made some strides and i ended up making some good lists (thanks Laura!) and having a great meeting with Nathan. Mickey and Josh did some framing by themselves today and I think we all learned something from that.
Time for bed so that my morning happens on time.

Just wondering if you read any good books over your break. Jon bought me a book called "Fidelity" by Wendell Berry. I LOVE his writing. I feel like a better person everytime I read about his characters.

I did some reading in "Love and Friendship" by Jules Toner. I can only take so much Toner at one sitting, the man is just such a wonderfully dense writer and thinker.
I finished a funny sci-fi book called "To Say Nothing of the Dog" by Connie Willis. Debbie Vaughan recommend it to me. It's a clever time-travel story set mostly in Victorian England but also in a distant future. Fun history jokes, if you like that sort of thing.
I'm still making my way through "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" by Edmund Morris. Morris is an excellent biographer (won the Pulitzer for this book) and Roosevelt is a great man. I got it on the occasion of my Covenant making and have been working on it ever since.
Slaughterhouse Five is the newest edition to the reading list, closely preceded by Words That Work. No one knows when I'll finish any of those. "Fidelity" has just jumped on the list though, thanks Jen.
